At Emily McNair, we are passionate about our ethical and sustainable responsibilities and we are always looking at ways to improve what we’re doing and achieve more.

As everything is made in house in the U.K, we guarantee that the hands that make our products are valued and that everyone is paid fairly and treated well. Many of the items are made by Emily herself and where extra help is needed, our seamstresses are paid above living wage and working conditions exceed U.K standards.

Our fabrics vary significantly. We favour sustainable and natural fabrics or dead stock fabrics which would otherwise go to waste. We have achieved our goal of 100% of our new fabrics being sustainable and with traceable ethical credentials. All of our other materials are either vintage or deadstock and would otherwise be discarded either to landfill or incinerated. More information on each product can be found on each product page.

In January 2020, we announced our recycling initiative. Customers are now welcome to send us their Emily McNair items once they reach the end of their life and we will recycle them on your behalf, you even get a discount voucher as a thank you! Full terms and conditions here: Recycling Initiative

Above all, we recognise that sustainability and ethical practices are as important to our customers as they are to us. Our guarantee to you is that we will always be transparent about how far along our journey to a truly sustainable brand - no greenwashing here!
